How To: Fill In Your Eyebrows
I have a love hate relationship with my eyebrows, I have days where they simply won’t co operate or sit right and other days where I’m happy with the way they look and they frame my face. I’ve been using the same brow products for nearly two years now and I feel like they give me a natural but defined brow.
1. I first comb through my brows with a spoole so that all the hairs are facing the same direction.
2. If I’m going for a full eyebrow look then I start with using an eyebrow pencil that is the same shade as my natural brown colour just to stencil out where I’m going to fill in, I use this to slightly extend my natural arch and tail as it gives the final look a sharper appearance.
3. I will then move on to filling in my brows with a wax, I use my holy grail Benefit Brows A Go Go Eyebrow Kit to do this, this kit comes with a highly pigmented light and dark powder and wax. I first take the wax on an angled brush and outline the bottom of my brows.
4. Now I take the dark brown shade on the same angled brush and fill my eyebrow in starting from the middle to the end, going with the shape I made with the brow pencil.
5. Then I move on to the lighter shade and lightly fill in from the middle to the start getting lighter as I go, creating an almost gradient effect. When I get to the very start of my brow I personally prefer to slightly square it off, I feel as though this is the most natural and I’m not a fan of rounded eyebrows.
6. This is where I like to make sure everything blends into each other and there’s no harsh lines. I take the lightest shade of brow powder and take it through all of my brows to blend it out.
7. This is a completely optional step, but when I’m going for a full brow look and I’m going somewhere special I’ll take a small amount of my Mac Pro Longwear Concealer and line it underneath and above my brow and blend it in. This makes your eyebrows appear crisp, defined and bold.
Top Ten Tag

I seen this fun looking post on my dashboard yesterday and I thought I would give it a go. I have firm favourite product for every category of make up so this post is going to be really easy for me to do, you’ll probably all have seen these products mentioned on my blog before as they are my favourites.
Foundation
Definitley Rimmel Match Perfection. I feel like this foundation is so overlooked and it gives an amazing long lasting dewy finish great for those of you who have dry skin. You can read my review on it here
Concealer
Up until a few months ago this would have been the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, but since I’ve got my hands on the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer I can’t imagine not using it. It’s such good coverage, highlights you under eye beautifully and covers any blemishes you may have.
Powder
As my skin is on the dryer side I haven’t used many powders, my favourite one I have tried though is the Maybeline Fit Me powder. It’s not too heavy and doesn’t look cakey.
Blush
Without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite blusher of all time is the Sleek blush in Rose Gold, which is apparently a dupe for Nars Orgasm. It’s the most amazing coral pink with Rose gold glitter specs in.
Bronzer
NYC Sunny Bronzer! Honestly the best drug store bronzer I have ever used. it’s not too orange or too brown, it’s matte which makes it amazing for contouring and it only costs around £1.99! You can see my review on it here.
Eyeshadow
In terms of eyeshadow palettes, it’s the original Naked palette as I can create so many different looks with it. If we’re talking my favourite eyeshadow I think it’d be Half Baked by Urban Decay. It’s such a pretty gold shade and looks amazing all over and in the inner corners of the eye.
Mascara
My favourite mascara is constantly changing, at the moment I am loving the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara which I’ve done a review on here.
Eyebrows
This is definitely the easiest category. Benefits Brows a Go Go eyebrow kit, I’ve been using this for years and the pigmentation on the wax and powder in the kit is unreal!
Lip Product
hmmm..I think it’s going to have to be Mac Creme Cup. It’s the a neutral pink every day shade that in my opinion would suit everyone. Again you check out my review on the lipstick here.
My Holy Grail Foundation | Rimmel Match Perfection Review
I’m going to start by saying this foundation is so underrated it’s unbelievable! Many other Rimmel foundations such as the Wake Me Up and hyped up a lot in the blogging world but I see very little talk of the Match Perfection. I have tried both and I personally prefer match perfection and it’s cheaper!
I first used this foundation around 2 years ago when I was looking for a purse friendly, everyday foundation At the time I was using studio fix fluid by mac on a daily basis and loved full coverage, matte foundations, so although I liked Match Perfection it wasn’t a huge stand out product to me, it just did the job. After I got through my first bottle I didn’t bother re purchasing it as I missed wearing my full coverage matte foundation everyday and went back to that for about a year. Then around a year ago whilst at my local boots I seen that they were selling Match Perfection for £6.99 so I had to pick it up, I applied it the next day and I fell in love with it this time around. It totally converted me to more natural looking foundation and I now love the look of glowy skin. Whilst wearing this foundation, so many people commented on how lovely my skin looked and asked what foundation I was wearing, I’ve never had this wearing any other foundation before including mac!
The Review
Match perfection is said to be designed to adapt to your skin tone, so that you get a great colour match making it look very natural, like your skin but better. It applies like an absolute dream, goes on without and patches, giving a medium coverage (when built up), natural glowy finish. I wouldn’t say it’s matte but I wouldn’t say it’s extremely dewy either. It’s the perfect middle ground, and makes your skin look so healthy, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much.

I get the shade 103 True Ivory which is the perfect match for my skin tone, it’s also one of the only drugstore foundations that isn’t too pink. It has the perfect mix of pink and yellow within it. My skin is dry combination meaning my cheeks get dry but my t zone gets a little oily after around 4/5 hours wear, compared to a lot of cheaper foundations Match perfection lasted around 9/10 hours on me without needing any touch ups!

after 8 hours wear with no touch ups.
This is the cheapest Rimmel foundations available and I think the most overlooked, if you are looking for a cheap, medium coverage, natural looking foundation I would so recommend you go out and buy this. You can also see this foundation used in my natural college tutorial here
This Or That Beauty Tag

I’ve seen this fun This or That beauty tag floating around the blogosphere lately and thought it would be fun to do.
Blush or Bronzer?
I am definitely a bigger fan of bronzer than blush. I can go without wearing blusher but never bronzer.
Lipgloss or Lipstick?
I am definitely a lipstick girl. I feel like lipsticks last a lot longer and I prefer a more matte look than shiny lip glosses. My favourite at the moment is an Elf lipstick in Charming it’s a brilliant shade for the Autumn.

Chapstick or Lip butter?
I don’t mind either, it all depends on how dry my lips are. If they’re in need of a lot of hydration I will use my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip balm and if they’re in okay condition I will use my EOS lip balm in sweet mint.
Matt or sparkle eye shadow?
Both! I love having a shimmer eyeshadow all along my lid and then a matte shade in my crease.
Pressed or loose shadows?
I much prefer pressed eyeshadow, I feel they last longer and don’t cause as much fall out.
Gel, liquid, cream or pencil eye liner?
Definitely liquid! I don’t get along with gel eyeliner at all and pencil to me looks too messy. A smooth line of liquid eyeliner by the lash line just pulls and eye look together in my opinion.
Foundation or concealer?
Hmmmm…If I could only choose one I think I’d pick a specific concealer, the Mac Pro Longwear. It has amazing coverage and could be used as a foundation too.
Liquid or powder foundation?
Having skin that’s on the dryer side, me and powder foundations don’t get along so it’s definitely going to be liquid.
Neutral or statement eye?
I pretty much always go for a neutral eye look using gold’s, creams and browns in my Naked palettes. I do enjoy going for a statement eye occasionally though and you can check out my green smokey eye look here.
Waterproof or non waterproof mascara?
Waterproof mascara! When I’m not using waterproof I suffer with terrible smudges under my eyes.
Brushes, Sponges or fingers?
Brushes all the way! I find using fingers to be really unhygienic and I get a more flawless look when using my favourite Real Techniques brushes.
Powder, cream or liquid highlighters?
I am in love with the highlighter in the Sleek Contour Kit so I’m going to say powder highlighters. I feel like they’re much easier and quicker to use.
Smokey Eyes & Nude Lips

One of my most worn make up looks is a smokey eye and a nude lip, using the Naked palette and Mac Creme Cup lipstick.
I will do my every day face routine the simply take the shade half baked, apply it to my lid, then use buck through the crease, a little bit of darkhorse in the outer v, blend and add then add some mascara and maybe a flick of eyeliner. For the lips my staple pinky nude is Mac’s Creme Cup this compliments the smokey eye beautifully and completes the look.
I think this is a timeless, classic look that will never go out of style. It takes around 10 minutes to do and looks so put together. This is my go to look and I’d say I wear it at least 4/5 times a week, and even if I am wanting something more evening appropriate or dramatic I’ll simply do the same eye make up and just swap the nude lips for a red.
What is your staple make up look?

September Wishlist
September wishlist
Putting together this months wishlist has gotten me so excited for Autumn/Winter. I can’t wait to start wearing dark lips, scarfs and coats again, I for one am definitely a winter person. My September wishlist includes more fashion items than normally as I want to update my wardrobe for the new season, and I am starting to buy little bits for my trip to New York in January (SOO excited!)
In terms of fashion items I’ve been lusting after this imitation leather skirt from H&M, I think when paired with tights and boots it’ll be a staple in the winter months. Next I’ve been trying to find the perfect beige/nude coat, I want something like the one pictured above but I don’t want to pay an arm and leg for it. I think coats like this are so timeless and go with pretty much ever outfit, I particularly think it’ll look beatiful when worn with this tartan scarf from River Island that I’ve been lusting after. Last but not least I’ve been looking to get a plain crisp white shirt, just to wear tucked into skirts or with black jeans. I think even though it’s so simple it’s a really put together look that looks smart but casual. If you know of anywhere that does any nice reasonable priced ones please let me know.
Onto the beauty items on my wishlist this month. Mac released their long awaited Simpsons collection at the beginning of the month, and being the huge Simpsons fan that I am I want everything! I really want to get my hands on the blush in Pink Sprinkles in particular though. As pautumn winter is just around the corner I’ve been slowly starting to incorporate darker lips and different eye looks into my make up. The three main things I’m wanting to get for the new season is firstly an old favourite foundation of mine, Mac Studio Fix Fluid. I wore this foundation every day last winter and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t repurchase it. Next is the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I’ve never really seen the big deal with this palette compared to the other naked ones and I do think it’s a lot of money for just six eyeshadows, but I like to wear more matte eyeshadows in the colder month and I think this has every basic matte you’d need. Lastly I couldn’t not include a lipstick. I really want a new staple winter lipstick, and I think Mac’s Russian Red is the one that I’ve decided on. it’s a matte deep red and it’s definitely the next thing I’m going to buy.
What’s on your wishlist this month?
August Favourites

some of you may find this strange but I am so so glad August is coming to an end and summer actually. I’m definitely a winter person and the start of September means that summer is finally coming to an end and autumn is coming! Anyway on with the favourites.. This month I’ve been making the transition into autumn and going with slightly darker lip looks, so I’ve rekindled my love for some old favourites.
Beauty Favourites
Loreal Contour Parfait Lipliner in Simply Rose
I actually think the shade simply rose has been discontinued as I can’t find it anywhere but amazon online which is unfortunate because although I bought this a long whole ago I’ve only recently gotten into it. I’ve been using this with pretty much every pink/nude lipstick I own as it’s the perfect ‘your lips but darker shade’. This liner is also lovely when used to completely fill in your lips with a gloss over the top.
Soap & Glory Wowed Mouth Lip Palette
With the beginning of autumn approaching I’ve been trying to use deeper nudes and pinks and this little beauty of a palette contains six darker pink, nude and red lipsticks all of which are amazingly pigmented! The shades I’ve been particularly loving are Guava Rama and Perfect Day both of which are available to buy in tube form. I also love how this palette smells, it reminds me Mac lipsticks.
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
I mention this product all the time so you must know how much I love it by now. This month I’ve used it more than ever though, I usually only use it on days where I want a lighter coverage, but this month I’ve preferred it to my higher coverage foundations. This foundation is great for those with dryer skin as it feels really moisturising and gives a nice natural dewy look.
Real Techniques Contour Brush
Before this month I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Real Techniques contour brush as I didn’t really like it for it’s sole purpose of contouring. But I’ve seen Gabby (Velvetgh0st) using it to blend her concealer out in a few videos, so I gave it a try with my Mac Pro Longwear concealer and I loved the result! It blends the concealer out beautifully and due to the size of the brush it’s a lot quicker than using your fingers or smaller brushes.
Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipstick in Pink Me Up
I picked this lipstick up in Germany and it’s unfortunately not available in the UK but I thought I’d mention it anyway. This lipstick is actually a dupe for Mac’s a All Fired Up which I’ve done a post on here. it’s the prettiest deep pink shade, lasts pretty much all day and I’ve been wearing it a lot this month.
Random Favourites
Insomnia
With the recent heartbreaking death of Robin Williams, I felt all nostalgic and was searching for a film with him in on Netflix and came across Insomnia. I’d never actually heard of it before but after reading the synopsis it sounded quite good so I have it a watch and realllly liked it! It’s a psychological thriller type film which is my favourite kind and you’ll be hooked until the very end. I’d definitely recommend it!
Daim Bars
I can’t believe I’d never tried Daim Bars until recently and now I love them! I wish I was featuring a healthy snack favourite but I’m unfortunately not and a daim bar is a chocolate bar with caramel and almond in for those of you who don’t know. I’ve been eating so many this month and I’ve even used them to make milkshakes, yummy!
Alfie Deyes
My favourite YouTuber this month has to be Alfie’s (PointlessBlog) vlog channel. I’ve been so into vlogs lately, I’m actually watching them more than main channel videos. I think Alfie is one of the sweetest YouTubers ever, lately he’s been vlogging every day on his second channel and I can’t stop watching them! You can find Alfie’s vlog channel here.
What did you love this month?
