The Vampire Diaries Inspired | Last Minute Halloween Make Up Tutorial

IMG_6889.JPGI’m a HUGE fan of TVD so I wanted to incorporate it into my Halloween look this year and decided to go for a vampire. This make up is so simple to do, and unless you want to use the blood, everything can be done with things you probably already have in your make up kit. This is also a great look to do for a last minute costume, just throw on all black and follow this make up look.

How To Do It
You want to start by taking your normal foundation and lightly applying it over your face, feel free to mix in a pale foundation at this point depending on your preference. You then want to heavily contour using a grey toned matte bronzer and applying it along your cheekbones and temples, you don’t want to be light with this as you want to look as though your face is sunken in.
IMG_6888.JPGFor the eyes take a shimmery red eye shadow and place it all over the lid and on the lower lash line, then take a copper eyeshadow and place it in the crease and blend it upto your browbone. Then take a matte black eyeshadow onto a pencil brush and pat it into the outer v and blend. You can then add an optional flick of liquid liner.
IMG_6890.JPGTo create the veins under the eyes, you first want to cover the entire under eye area in a white eyeshadow, then take a matte yellow shadow and apply it lightly just below the eye. For the actual veins I took a mix of red and black face paint on a paint brush but you can achieve the same look using eyeshadow. You want to slowly create lighting type lines from the bottom of your eye outwards until you get your desired effect.

Lastly apply a dark red lipstick and then you may optionally drip some fake blood from either side of your lips and add fangs. And there you go, quick, easy and affordable vampire look!
What are you going as for Halloween this year?

I Got a Puppy / Where Have I Been?

IMG_6857.JPG
Going on to the wordpress app and writing this post feels extremely weird as it’s been so long! You may or may not have noticed I haven’t made a blog post in around a month now, and I am deeply ashamed and sorry about that. With so much going on in college and my life at the moment I just truly haven’t had the time to sit down and put a post together, or if I have, I haven’t been happy enough with the post to actually post it.
But anyway, I’m back now, and I thought I’d update you on what’s gone on in the last month or so. Firstly, if you follow me on twitter you may know that I GOT A DOG! Yes after around 4 years of begging my mother to get a puppy she agreed, and two weeks ago we got the most adorable little Yorkshire terrier puppy named Minty. He’s a little mischief and we are finding it really hard to train him, but I wouldn’t change him for the world, I am so so in love!

I also went to see the Vamps a few weeks ago, a friend of mine gave me her ticket for free as she wasn’t up to going and I actually really enjoyed myself. They’re all really talented and I particularly enjoyed Tristan’s drum solo! Then last weekend I spent the day with my best friends caving pumpkins, going to a spooky maze and…ended up dying the ends of my hair lilac. I’m not 100% sure whether I like it, but it’s a bit of fun and it should start to fade pretty soon. Apart from that all I’ve done is college work, eat out A LOT and clean up after the new addition to my household. From now on I’ll hopefully be back to uploading two times a week!

Autumn/Fall Nail Polish Picks

IMG_6652.JPGI’m one of those people that likes to changed up what colours I wear on my nails and lips for that matter depending on the season. When it comes to autumn/winter I swap out my baby pinks, blues and coral nail polishes for reds, greys and purples. These are the five I’m going to be wearing the most this season.

Collection Lasting Gel Colour – Stormy Grey 11
Although I prefer wearing darker shades in the Autumn, I do like me a nude colour. This one is a light brown nude, that looks very sophisticated and classy. These gel collection ones are amazing, the formula is so shiny and they last a good 5 days without chipping.

Barry M Nail Paint – 293 Grey
The Barry M nail paints are one of my favourite nail polish brands. All the shades I have are really opaque and only need one coat, they look so glossy too. The shade grey is an amazing autumn colour, and I wear it a lot at this time of year.

Bourjois Very Vernis – Cerise Noire 36
This is my all time favourite and most worn Autumn shade so far. It’s the most perfect burgundy shade, and I’ve never owned a colour like it before. I’ve worn it for up to a week before I need to take it off and to me it just screams autumn!

Maybeline Express Finish – Charming Cobait 637
This is the prettiest dark purpley blue colour with subtle glitter in it. I can just imagine wearing this to a Christmas party or something really festive. These nail polishes also dry insanely quick, which is handy if you’re in a rush.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ – Real Red
You can’t beat a classic red nail in autumn and this shade by Avon is the best red I’ve tried. It’s a true, deep red with a shiny finish. You really can’t go wrong!

September Favourites

IMG_6561.JPG
So the dreaded back to school month has come to an end, and we’re now into October, one of my favourite months! These are the products I loved throughout September.
Beauty Favourites
Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer
I’ve had this for a while now, and before September I’d only used it a dozen or so times. I didn’t know if it was just my product, but I felt as though my brush wasn’t picking up enough product, there’s a natural bronzer and then there’s no product at all being put on your skin! So after trying to get this product to work over a whole week and failing, I decided to just out it in one of my drawers. That was until the beginning of last month when I found if and decided to scrape the top layer of product off. Long story short, this now works beautifully, still very natural but stunning for the winter months. Oh, and the smell isn’t bad either!
Tangle Teazer
I don’t know how I would have coped without this little savior last month. My hair has been going through a really dry and knotty stage, meaning it’s a nightmare to brush, especially after washing. This brush makes it so much easier than a regular brush, there’s no tugging or pulling and it leaves my hair feeling a lot smoother.
Maybeline Fit Me Powder
I have no idea what has happened, but my skin, after years and years of being dry, has decided to get oily. You may think I’m bonkers but I’m so happy! Obviously only a little bit of oil, I don’t want to have to powder every other minute, but having more oil to my skin than before means my make up is applying a lot smoother which is great. To control my new found oily skin, I’ve been using a powder I’ve had for a while, the Maybeline Fit Me. It’s not at all cakey, and takes away any excess shine that I don’t want.
Mac Hello Kitty Kabuki Brush
I’ve been using this cute little kabuki brush with the powder, and I love it! It’s big enough so that it covers your whole face in two sweeps, and it’s extremely soft. This is a fake item which i was aware of but the quality is still amazing. It also comes in the cutest little zip up pouch, making it perfect to put in your handbag.
Calvin Klein Lipstick in Dangerous
If you’ve seen my recent Autumn lip picks post, you’ll know that I included this lipstick in it and said how much I love it for this time of year. As September meant the start of Autumn, I was finally able to start wearing this lipstick again without getting strange looks, which makes me so so happy!
Random Favourites
Tesco Winter Spice Candle
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE candles, so much so that I can get though them within a week. With my favourite Yankee ones being over £10 a jar, it gets expensive. So whilst in Tesco a few weeks ago I wandered down the candle isle and seen their own range of candles. They all smelt absolutely amazing and were only £2.99! With winter approaching I decided to get winter spice, which smells like cinnamon and apples. (mmmmm!) Unlike most cheaper candles, these ones actually smell nice once lit too and linger around your room. Thanks Tesco!
Argos/Getting A Job
Yes I finally got myself a part time job! Technically I officially started on the first of October but I went for my interview and everything in September so I thought I’d include it in this post. I’ve been trying to find a weekend job since I turned 16, with little luck. A few weeks ago however I got invited for an interview for a Christmas job at Argos and I got it! So far everyone is really nice, and I couldn’t be happier.
Fleur De Force
My favourite YouTuber this month is one of the first people I ever started watching on YouTube. I’ve watched Fleurs videos for years, but lately I’ve been really loving them and especially her vlogs since she got her adorable new puppy. She’s just started doing Vlogtober on her vlogging channel here, which excites me very much!

What have you loved this month?
