New York Make Up Haul
I can finally say I have visited Sephora and holy crap that place is amazing! I am now even more envious of the fact Americans have them and we don’t. I didn’t actually buy much as the stuff I did get was pretty expensive, but I did spend a good hour drooling over everything there. I picked up the famous Nars Sheer Glow foundation which I have wanted for the longest time! I got colour matched to Fiji which is the perfect match for me, I have only used it once so far but I am loving it, i’ll be sure to do a full review when I have used it more. Whilst at the Nars counter I also naughtily bought the Virtual Domination palette, now at $70 this may seem expensive but it does come with a huge Laguna bronzer, three blushes and a highlighter which makes the palettes contents worth over $120. It’s also amazing, I’ve used it every day since I got it and the bronzer and deep throat blusher are to die for.
Mac is sooo much cheaper in America, in the UK we pay £15 for one lipstick and in America they pay $16 due to the exchange rate that means that Mac lipsticks are only around £9! I obviously couldn’t resist and picked up a refill of my favourite pro longwear concealer and Velvet Teddy lipstick which I have been trying to find for the longest time. Whilst there the Mac worker informed me that there was a new Miley Cyrus lipstick out and all the proceeds go towards the Mac Aids foundation so I obviously had to pick it up. This isn’t actually out in the UK yet either so I feel rather special knowing I have it before anyone else. Expect reviews soon!
Last but not least I visited Walgreens, I was on the hunt for a CVS drugstore so that I could check out all the make up but I just didn’t have enough time and Walgreens was the best I could find. It wasn’t the largest store so they didn’t have that much make up, but i did get the Maybeline Instant Age Rewind Concealer that everyone talks about, it isn’t the cheapest drugstore concealer but having used it I can see why, it is really good! The last thing I got was a Wet N Wild eyeshadow palette in The Naked Truth, I hear a lot of good stuff about Wet N Wild so I thought I would get something from their range and I must say the eyeshadows are amazing quality!
July Favourites

I swear it only seems like last week I was writing my June favourites!? I’m so glad that the weeks are going by quick though as I’m so excited to start back college and not be bored everyday.
I picked up some new products this month that have certainly been favourites over the past few weeks. I’ve also been watching a lot of Netflix since I’ve had time off and have discovered a new favourite tv show!
Beauty Favourites
Mac Prolongwear Concealer
I finally got around to purchasing this a couple of weeks ago and I am still trying it out so there’ll be a full review on it sometime next week. But from what I’ve used so far I’m loving it! It’s really high coverage, does not crease even after a full days wear and beautifully highlights under the eye area.
Elizabeth Arden Mousse Foundation
I actually used to really dislike this product and would never use it alone as a foundation, but lately I’ve been it with my pro longwear foundation and it creates a lovely glow to my skin as well as adding more colour.

Kylie Minogue Darling Perfume
I’ve been running low on perfumes lately and my mother got me this one, which is one of her favourites at the beginning of the month. It’s a more grown up scent with woody undertones and is on the cheaper side which is great!
Real Techniques Buffing Brush
I’m a big fan of the Real Techniques brushes and I have owned the buffing brush for a good year now. I find that this brush works really well with my current foundation mix, and I can get a good full coverage with it.
Non Beauty Favourites
Primark Sweet Vanilla & Coconut Candle
I picked up this candle during a recent trip to Primark for £2. I honestly can’t stop smelling it and once it’s lit leaves the most beautiful vanilla scent in the room, I’m addicted!
Orange Is The New Black
I know I’m rather late on the bandwagon with this show and that everyone and their mother loves it! Even after seeing so many people rave about I didn’t think I’d be a fan as I’m more into Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars etc. But seeing as I have a lot of free time at the moment I thought I’d see what the fuss is about, and wow! I’m addicted! I highly recommend it to you all.
Velvetgh0st
My favourite YouTuber this month is Gabbby from Velvetgh0st, I love her upbeat personality and her huge cat! She uploads three times a week and you can always see how much effort she puts into her videos.

Mini Beauty Haul

I went to Cardiff a few days ago and picked up some new things that I thought I’d share with you. I visited the new 5 floor primark (heaven) and got some basic tops and a jacket which aren’t worth showing and I also went to Mac & Debenhams.

I picked up these really pretty necklaces in Primark for £1.50 and they look really cute worn together with a simple top. I wore them yesterday and I think I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of them. Primark jewellery is great for the price!

I FINALLY got the Mac Pro LongWear Concealer! I had a £2 off Mac voucher so I got this for £15 in the shade NC15. I’ve been wanting to try it out forever and I’m so impressed. I’ve used it once so far and you literally need the smallest amount to highlight and cover your under eyes, it doesn’t crease and you get a good amount of product for the price.

I said in my last favourites post that I was loving the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, that I got a sample of and since then it’s run out. As I loved it so much I picked up a full sized version in waterproof as my mascara always seems to smudge in the summer months. I absolutely love the mascara but I really don’t like how hard it is to get off. Even with an eye make up remover I was sat tugging at my lashes for at least five minutes.

Lastly I picked up a new perfume as I’ve been running really low on scents. I fancied getting something different so I tried the Ted Baker Cate Purse Spray. It smells like vanilla and berries which I love and is really feminine.
The Best Budget Bronzer

If you know me you’ll know I am a HUGE bronzer fan and it’s probably my favourite part of putting make up on. I’ve gone through the stages of looking like an orange disco ball, looking like I have mud smeared on my cheekbones and everything else. I now believe I’ve almost mastered the art contouring/bronzing, I’ve tried both high end an low end bronzers and the product I’m about to review is honestly one of the best I’ve ever tried.

That product is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny , this retails at £1.99, is extremely pigmented and is completely matte! The shade sunny is a light taupe colour with the perfect amount of brown and orange in it, it’s works great on both light to medium skin tones. It’s rare to find drugstore bronzers that aren’t packed with shimmer which is why the NYC bronzer is so popular. The matte finish makes it great for contouring as well as given an all over subtle bronzed look.

Another reason I love this bronzer is how great it works as an eyeshadow, which makes it handy when travelling. it looks amazing applied to the crease with a blending brush and also acts as a great transition shade!
Top Summer Lipstick Picks

I’m not usually one for changing my make up looks for the season but lately I’ve been trying to get into lighter summer make up. The plum and purple lipsticks are gone and the pinks and nudes are in..okay maybe I have worn a plum lip once or twice, but it was raining that day so it’s okay right?
Today’s post is my top summer lip colours, deepening on how I’m feeling that day and the make up look I’m wearing I will usually go for either pink nudes or coral shades in the summer months.

Elf Lipstick in Flirtatious
This is a sheer, glossy bright pink lipstick, a colour I think anyone can pull off. it’s extremely hydrating and looks great paired with minimal summer make up. Like all Elf products for the price of £1.95 this lipstick is an absolute bargain and a firm summer favourite of mine.

Mac Creme Cup
The cult favourite that is creme cup. I’d say this is a year round shade as it’s so versatile but it in the summer it looks great with a dramatic cat eye in the evening. This is the palest lipstick out of my top picks and is a great starting out lipstick for those new to make up. As with all Mac lipstick this product retails for £15 so it isn’t the cheapest.

Collection DeLuxe Lipstick In Talullah
This is currently one of my favourite lipsticks, I’m not one for light pink lipsticks as I never thought they suited my colouring but ever since I got this I have been converted. This is more of a mid tone pink that which in my opinion is really flattering and doesn’t wash you out. The formula is creamy and it does tend to last quite well.

Elf Charming Lipstick
Yes, another Elf lipstick. As you can tell I love these little gems! The shade Charming is a browny pink/ dark nude which is great for those of you who like me aren’t the biggest fans of pale pink and nude lipsticks. Again this shade could be worn in both winter and summer but in the summer it goes well with a smokey eye and bronzed cheeks.

BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Lip Crayon In Sirius
As the name suggests these lip crayons by BarryM are really glossy and glide straight onto the lips making for easy application. The shade Sirius is a bright darkish pink (if that makes any sense) and looks the best paired with minimal make up.

Maybeline Color Sensational Lipstick In Mango Diamonds
Last but not least a coral shade. The color sensational lipstick by Maybeline are like tinted lip balms and the shade mango diamonds is a a light orange colour with the tiniest hint of pink and has a bit of shimmer in it. I find shades like this can be hard to pull off but when worn with a brown smokey eye it does look beautiful.
Face Of The Day: Subtle Smokey Eye & Bright Lip
Today’s look includes a subtle smokey eye, bright lips and glowy skin. I used my new Barry M lip crayon in Sirius on my lips and I love the result, it’s brightened up my whole complexion and goes hand in hand with the smokey eye.
Face
Foundation: I used my Mac Pro Longwear Foundation in Nw15 which I’ve only recently bought and I love it!
Concealer: I applied the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on my blemishes and under my eyes in a triangular shape to highlight.
Bronzer and Blush: For bronzer I used my all time favourite NYC bronzer in sunny, and for blush I went with Sleeks Blush in Rose Gold.
As Prolongwear is quite a matte foundation I don’t feel the need to powder my face on a normal day unless I know I’m going to be out all day.

Eyes
To start I primed my eyes using Avon’s eye primer in light beige to create a smooth base for the eyeshadows.
Eyeshadow:I used YDK from the Naked 2 palette all along my lid, followed by Tease in the crease. To deepen the look I then applied Snakebite into the outer v and then blended it together with the lightest brown colour from my Benefit Brow Kit which I also used to fill in my eyebrows. To bring the look together I applied a blend of YDK and Tease underneath my eyes.
Eyeliner: I was also brave and done a small wing with the cheap and cheerful Asda Liquid Eyeliner, this stuff is great for 1.99!
Mascara: To finish off I used my favourite mascara at the minute which is the Chanel Volume Le Chanel.

Lips
I used my new Barry M Hi Shine Lip Crayon in Sirius on my lips and I think that the colour really brought the look together. I love the high shine result that it gave my lips, I’m just loving this product!

Mac & Chanel Haul
Last week I went to London & Birmingham, whilst there I took full advantage of the shops amd picked up a few bits and bobs.
I ventured into Chanel for the first time in my life in Covent Garden, and to my surprise they were actually really friendly and were joking around with me about my strong a Welsh accent. I ended up picking up a full size of the Le Volume De Channel, I got a sample size of this and fell in love as it made my short lashes (because of getting lash extensions a few months ago 😦 ) bold and the longest I’ve ever seen them, so even though £25 seems a lot for a mascara it was totally worth it!

After spending around half hour drooling over the stuff in Chanel I rushed over to the Mac shop (I only had 20 minutes until my coach came) and asked them what foundation they recommend for dry skin, I’ve tried studio fix fluid before and even though I loved it, my skin has since gotten drier and it tends to stick to my dry spots now. The Mac lady suggested I try the Mineralize Moisture Foundation in Nc15 (I usually get nc20 so another new for me) she quickly tested it against my skin and it matched perfectly! So obviously I had to get! >
I also decided to pick up a Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup whilst in Selfridges in Birmingham after hearing so many good things about it. It’s a huge change for me as I’m usually a bold lip gal but I’m excited to try it out (expect a blogpost on it soon!)
Have you picked up anything new lately?
Hello World Of Blogging!
Welcome! This is my first blog post and to say I’m nervous about posting this would be an understatement. I’ve been meaning to get around to creating a place where I can share my thoughts on beauty and fashion for a while now, so I thought what better time to do it than on one of the most boring Saturdays I’ve ever experienced?
Seeing as this is my very first post I guess I should tell you what you should be expecting from this blog and when I’ll be posting. I am aiming to get a new post up once a week, (eeeek I may be setting myself up to fail here!) with the content being mainly based around make up, beauty and the occasional fashion post. You’ll have to bare with the low quality images for my first handful of posts too as I currently don’t own a professional camera, therefore the images will be taken from my IPhone, but hey we all have to start somewhere right?
So this is me signing out on my first official blog post, i can’t wait to start the journey!
